Pros

Cons

Overall

Jerome Murphy makes his name as one of the more stronger and physical cornerbacks in this years draft. Murphy is strong at the line, gets a good jam on his man, and does an excellent job re-routing his receiver, he shows the ability to be very good in bump and run coverage at the next level. Has a very good combination of size and speed and has the all the physical attributes to succeed at the next level. Murphy though will need to be coached up a good deal to reach his potential, not like that is uncommon for N.F.L Draftee's but this years class of cornerbacks is so deep that he gets knocked down a bit. Murphy needs to work on his back pedal, he often gets too high, or back pedals for too long, or gives too much cushion so that anything thrown underneath is an easy reception. Also his play has been inconsistent, as he was even benched for a short period of time last season. Murphy is a very solid cornerback, but in a class with so many talented corners, Murphy gets pushed back to the 3rd round range.
