Pros

Cons

Overall

In my opinion, Brandon Boykin is one of the best athletes we have in this years draft class. Sure he is undersized at only 5-9, but there are very few players that have the agility, speed, quickness, and overall smooth athleticism that Boykin has. At Georgia, Boykin had at least 1 or 2 plays a game game planned for him on offense, and was one of the best return men in the nation because of his explosiveness. As a cover corner too, he is very underrated, because of his athleticism, he can quickly change directions, and transition out of his back pedal, allowing him to stick to his man like glue. He has the speed to hang with any receiver, and his lack of size is often made up by his elite leaping ability. A lot of people started to get on the Boykin bandwagon with me after an impressive performance at the Senior Bowl where he was excellent. However, as mentioned, Boykin may run into trouble because of his size. The way Receivers are now, so many guys are 6 Foot 3, 225 or bigger, Boykin may struggle to man up in red zone situations, and will likely safety help if matched up against an opposing teams #1. Really, the size is all that is holding Boykin down, and because he is such a good athlete, I think he overcomes a lot of that. I personally do not feel he should be relegated to straight slot duties, and would feel comfortable starting him as one of my top 2 corners. He could go anytime in round 2.
